Pedometrics 2017 Special Issues

All authors of oral and poster presentations at Pedometrics 2017 are invited to submit a journal manuscript on their presented work to one of two Pedometrics 2017 special issues.

The Geoderma special issue will focus on work related to Digital Soil Mapping and Soil and Landscape Evolution Modelling (regional scale studies). Guest editors are Jetse Stoorvogel (lead), Ben Marchant, Budiman Minasny and Laura Poggio. Elsevier offers a 5% discount on the open access fee.

The European Journal of Soil Science special issue focuses on work on Digital Soil Morphometrics, Soil Monitoring and Proximal Soil Sensing (fine-scale studies). Guest editors are Gerard Heuvelink (lead), Dick Brus, David Rossiter and Zhou Shi. This special issue will be open access in the first year after publication.

If you decide to submit a manuscript then you have a free choice between the two journals but obviously we recommend that you choose the one whose focus best meets the content of your work.

Reviews will be returned before 1 February 2018. The entire review process will be completed before 1 July 2018. The special issues can then go in production, but note that the EJSS special issue will be the first issue of 2019 (because this gives one year open access). Accepted papers will be published on-line as soon as the proof-correction stage has been completed.

For submission to EJSS, please submit through (see instructions on and make sure to tick ‘Special Issue’. Please note in the accompanying letter that you submit your manuscript to the Pedometrics 2017 special issue.

For submission to Geoderma, submission details will be provided shortly.
